Looking to upgrade my charging system on my old Lincoln Mark vii. Does anyone have insight on upgrading from the old Ford alternator to a newer one out of an early 2000s f150 or Crown Vic? From my understanding those alternators are significantly better but require some mods to get around the outboard voltage regulator on the stock alternator.
