Overview
Excessive Sounds (“we,” “us”) operates excessivesounds.com and related shop, forum, and member features. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is a working draft until reviewed by counsel.
By using the site you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Information we collect
Account data: handle, email, password hash, profile and shipping fields you choose to save, avatar uploads, and order history tied to your login.
Commerce data: cart contents, checkout details, payment status from our card processor (we do not store full card numbers on our servers), and warehouse fulfillment references.
Community data: forum posts, photos, private messages, ride/setup writeups, product reviews, and similar content you submit while logged in.
How we use information
We use your information to run the shop (quotes, orders, shipping, tax where applicable), operate member accounts, display forum and messaging features, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
We may log technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security, debugging, and internal metrics. Activity logging can be reduced in server configuration when load or external monitoring requires it.
Sharing with service providers
Payments are processed by Stripe. Shipping labels and tax calculations rely on information you enter at checkout. Catalog inventory and product data may sync with our distributor feeds. Optional AI chat features may send prompts to xAI or similar providers when configured.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the site, comply with law, or protect users and the business.
Cookies and storage
We use session cookies for login, cart, CSRF protection, and preferences such as theme. The chatbot may store conversation history in your browser local storage. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
